On Feb. 19, Haskell Indian Nations University’s Student Government Association hosted its second Club Social event for the spring semester of 2026 at Stidham Union on the Haskell campus.
SGA hosts this Club Social as an event where clubs and organizations at Haskell come together, allowing new, returning, and continuing students to see what the school offers. This event gives students the chance to talk about their club, letting other students see what the club is about and what opportunities they can pursue for personal interests or community development.
SGA President Angel Ahtone Elizarraras said, “This event is important to SGA as we understand that clubs do not get to socialize much during the semester and we want to provide that opportunity to you all.”
The Club Social consisted of each club having its own table, where it provided information to students who might be interested in joining or just learning about the organization. Students walked around to check out booths and asked club members questions to learn more about the club and how they can get involved. Clubs were also giving out flyers and goodies and holding raffles that students could enter to win prizes. There were over 15 clubs and organizations for students to choose from, ranging from cultural to educational to other purposes. Some of the clubs that were represented at the event included Haskell Runway Fashion Club, Powwow Dancing Club, American Indian Business Leaders, and Banned Books Club.
The SGA Club Social event went smoothly with strong student engagement, allowing them to see the opportunities available to them.
