Stitching the Good Path: Quilts Inspired by Land and Language

Visitors stepped into the world of quilting Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, as Haskell Indian Nations University art instructor David Titterington joined Rhonda Denney and co-curator Shannon Connolly to host the first art show of the season at Ross Hall.

The exhibition, titled  Living Language Land Inspired, featured a collection of art quilts presented by Studio Art Quilt Associates, an international organization with regional chapters. The show highlighted the work of fiber artists from Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.

Rebecca Richards Schubert, a Lawrence-based fiber artist, said her piece, The Good Path, reflects today’s political climate.

“To follow the good path, we have to be respectful, loving and kind,” Schubert said.
