Haskell Indian Nations University hosted its annual Art Market on the powwow grounds Oct. 4–5, drawing students, community members, and artists from across the country.
The market, a highlight of Haskell’s fall season, featured a wide range of Native-made works, including jewelry, paintings, beadwork, and clothing. Food vendors served traditional and local favorites throughout the weekend.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Haskell Powwow Club performed traditional dances accompanied by live singing. The event showcased the creativity and community spirit of Native artists and students, reflecting the pride and talent found at Haskell.
During Saturday’s market, two University of Kansas students presented a gift and delivered a speech expressing appreciation for Haskell and its cultural significance.
