Blockbusters & Blankets: Summer Nights at the Arch

On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, Haskell held a movie night that students and some of the community attended. In front of the stadium arch, there was an inflatable screen where the audience were treated to the recent blockbuster Sinners. The Ryan Coogler original horror film follows two brothers who start a juke joint in the deep south where they grew up, and come back after their tumultuous lives in the Great War and working for gangsters in Chicago; where coming back home they are met with a different kind of evil.

Right after sunset, the movie began, where students and community were treated to popcorn, hot dogs, and soda. Many brought foldable chairs, blankets, and their bug spray. The atmosphere was great and a good way for students to enjoy a night on campus. If you missed this cinema night don’t worry, the next cinema night will be July 9, 2025, the movie will be Smoke Signals, an indigenous classic by Chris Eyre about the meaning of family, life, and death. Mark on your calendar for July 9th and get a blanket and spray for another great night!
